The in 1979 released Maxon OD808 was one of the first pedals that simulated the tube amp overdrive. The circuit Maxon developed for this purpose is the most widely used, most imitated and most lauded overdrive circuit ever!
That also resulted in this version. Please be aware that this is not the original Maxon. In appearance it is a little different but he produces smooth, creamy, but above all natural and mild crunch. This is because there is no separate clipping circuit in it. The distortion is in fact directly generated by the amplifier of the pedal.
